Our Nabq National Park trail provides 5 days of fantastic beach riding, including 2 half days of great desert and canyon exploring. Be welcomed into the homes of the Bedouin Tribes along your travels, where a smiling face and warm welcome waits you. Enjoy some fresh mint tea and spend time with these ancient tribes, who are very much part of Egyptian Culture. Their hospitality is legendary (as is their tea).
Each day is unique and includes steady canters along sandy deserts, as well as faster stretches along the shoreline. Between canters the pace is relaxed allowing you to enjoy this beautiful place. Swimming with horses is a must in the spring and summer months too!
Nabq National Park is a plush area, brimming with life right in the middle of the desert. The region of Nabq was announced as a protected spot in 1992 and has been made part of the Ras Mohamed National Park’s territory.
The Park offers miles and miles of shoreline, and home to some of the best backdrops in the world to ride. The residents of the park include herons, gulls, ospreys, Dorcas gazelles, Nubian ibex and red foxes. There are also around 85 different species of flowers and plants.
Nights 1, 5 and 6 are spent at the stunning 5 star luxury hotel the Jaz Mirabel Club (All Inclusive). Jaz Mirabel offers stunning views of the Red Sea in a luxurious but relaxed family-friendly setting for the perfect Egypt holiday.
Jaz Mirabel Beach lies on the shores of a lagoon in Nabq Bay, a ten-minute drive from Sharm El Sheikh International Airport. The distinctive style of the Jaz Mirabel Beach blends contemporary Tuscan architecture with warm Egyptian service to deliver genuine five–star luxury.
Nights 2 and 4 are spent at a Bedouin Village sleeping in quaint private beach cabins by the sea. Showers are available onsite, along with washrooms and fixed toilets and a restaurant.
Night 3 is spent in a personal tent (each person has their own) and mattresses and sleeping bags are provided for you, although on a warm evening many people choose to sleep out under the stars, which is an unforgettable experience. Solar showers and a camping toilet with private toilet tent are also provided.
The outline itinerary is as follows. Please note that the actual riding itinerary and route is subject to local conditions, the weather and the composition of the group. You should expect to see all of the famous sites mentioned at some point during the week, but not necessarily in this order.
Day 2 – After a luxury breakfast buffet, your cars will collect you to travel to our facilities (a 10 minute transfer). You will be welcomed to a meeting with Emma and Guenda and introduced to the horses.
Our trail starts through the breathtaking canyons and desert, before turning towards the Red Sea along the beach towards to the Costal Gate & Nabq Oasis. Your first night is spent at a Bedouin Village sleeping in private beach cabins by the sea. Dinner of freshly caught fish, breads and chicken is cooked on arrival using traditional Bedouin methods. Day two is approximately 3 to 4 hours in the saddle.
Day 3 – Your first beach riding day! After breakfast we will continue our ride along the coastline past Aba Zabad onto the ‘Mangroves Area’. This is a beautifully plush area, brimming with life and is part of the Ras Mohamed National Park’s territory. There are plenty of opportunities for long slow canters, culminating in a truly memorable beach gallop.
At night we will camp along the sea, with stunning views of Tiran Island and the Maria Schroeder wreck. Day three is around 5 hours in the saddle.
Day 4 – Today’s route will take us along the sea, passing through the Ruwaisseya Area with its Mangroves and Lagoon, arriving mid morning at the Visitors Centre / Museum and El Dagal Bird Sanctuary. We will spend some time here, taking in the history of the park and stunning natural views before riding a little further stopping for lunch with superb views of the mountains and canyons.
After lunch we will continue riding, heading back towards the sea before reaching Ghargana Mangroves where we will camp for the night. This is a longer riding day of around 5 hours which mixes mountains and the beach enjoying long canters and the occasional gallop. Day four is around 5 hours in the saddle.
Day 5 – Today’s route takes us along the stunning shorelines for a full day’s beach riding! We will ride through El Monquatta Mangroves and El Sabkhas stopping for lunch by the sea, before riding back to the Costal Gates and Nabq Oasis for the night. Your last night is spent at a Bedouin Village sleeping in quaint private beach cabins by the sea. Day five is around 5 hours in the saddle.
Day 6 – Today, the last day, you will head inland to the deserts, canyons and mountains, a varied terrain and super fun to place for a canter and gallop. The morning ride is 3 hours, stopping for lunch inside the canyons before riding back to the equestrian centre for around 4pm.
Your driver will meet you at the stables and after some tea and farewells transfer you back to the Jaz Mirabel Club Hotel in time for dinner. Day six is around 4.5 hours in the saddle.
Day 7 – Unwind and relax with the ultimate spa day. Enjoy a stunning massage, body scrub and pamper, and a light facial with lunch and a glass of champagne. Late afternoon is a Red Sea Cruise and dinner on a private boat, as you watch the dolphins play as the sun sets. The perfect end to this fabulous week.
Day 8 – Departure day.
Experience level: The horses are all Arabians / Arabian Cross and almost all stallions, although there are one or two geldings/mares. All are fit and familiar with the desert and sea. Arabian horses are famed for both their beauty and endurance, these are horses that want to ‘go’. The horses are forward going with an active, strong canter so you need to be a confident rider.
